About the motorhome:
2004 C-class motorhome. F350 V8 Triton motor and truck chassis. 5000lb towing pkg.
We bought the unit in 2011 and have put on just over 6000kms. It has 162070kms as it sits.
Brakes are 4-wheel ABS Hydraulic.
The Motor runs well and I have not had any issues on our travels. Transmission is automatic.
There is Cruise Control, Air Conditioning, power steering, retractable awning and a full size spare tire.
There are 7 seatbelts. 3 on front bench seat and 4 in the back.
This unit sleeps 5 comfortably.
Fuel tank is 40Gal / 150L
Black water holding tank capacity: 16Gal/60L
Grey water holding tank capacity: 22Gal/83L.
No accidents during my ownership and I am unaware of any accidents previous to that.
The bonus of having a truck instead of a van style motor home is the truck chassis - you can pretty much go where ever and not worry about driving on a proper road. Also if there are any motor issues, the motor is completely under the hood instead of half in the cab. And it is just a stronger more durable vehicle.
Fridge was serviced in the summer and because it is the original, we were advised it may need to be replaced within the next year or so.
The unit was just serviced a week ago and passed inspection. There is a propane leak that the service tech seems to think will be an easy fix and the unit is due to be resealed around the windows and seams. There is some rot in the front bunk.
To fix the propane leak, reseal the windows (etc) and fridge, and fix the rot it could cost from $4000 up to $7000. depending on whether nor not the whole front bunk needs to be fixed. I don't think it will be a full rebuild and the main part of the bunk and overhang seems solid to me... but I'm not an expert.
