55' liveaboard cruiser in Campbell River, British Columbia for sale

MV MECO is a 55ft custom shipyard built live-aboard cruiser. Her hull is inch and a half Alaska Yellow Cedar on Oak frames. Frames are on 12" centers. She is powered by a 6cyl Cummins diesel engine (model HRS-6-M) and cruises comfortably about 8kn. There is a 5kw Northern Lights gen set for power, as well as a cruising generator and alternator off the main engine. There is a large 'house' bank of deep cycle golf cart batteries (10) which run a Magnum 2500watt inverter/charger for off grid use.
The boat has been used as a comfortable live-aboard for many years and is set up with that in mind. There is a wood stove, a 4 burner propane stove w/oven, fridge/freezer, shower, etc...
The beam on the boat is about 16ft which equates to a large interior living space. The layout of the boat is two full decks plus a upper flying bridge and skiff storage deck. There are 4 staterooms, engine room and laundry below. The engine room is full height, not the usual crawl-space nightmare. Given the layout, the MECO has as much effective living room on her as most 70 foot boats.
Like most wooden boats, MECO needs lots of TLC - this is reflected in her price. She has a good hull, a good engine and lots of space.
